Programs within the Center for Access and Attainment engage students starting as early as middle school and continue until students graduate from the university. Many pre-college programs provide a pathway to college entry but not beyond. However, the center is explicitly trying to build a longer-term pathway both to and through college.
This is something that can only be accomplished in the context of the university's wider commitments to student access and attainment. And given the resource limits of any institution, we cannot serve more than a fraction of the students who might benefit from the programs we offer. Because of that, we do not see the programs as ends in themselves but as opportunities for learning about what works best.
