Russell Dorn joined DePaul University in November 2016 as a manager of news & integrated content and was promoted to senior manager of media relations in January 2024. In this role, Dorn works to promote DePaul University by sharing its special story to both internal and external entities.
Since graduating from Furman University in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in history, Dorn has worked on a college campus in media relations for all but one year. He came to DePaul after five years as an athletics communications assistant director at the University of Notre Dame. At Notre Dame, Dorn led media relations efforts for a wide variety of the university’s athletics programs.
A native of Greenwood, South Carolina, Dorn earned a master’s degree in sports administration from Georgia State University in 2011 after working in the university’s athletics communications office for two years as a graduate assistant. He lives in Roscoe Village with his fiancé, Erin, and their dog, Reese.
