Joe Erpenbeck is a trainer, speaker and a faculty member of the Asset Based Community Development Institute (ABCD). Over the last 15 years he has provided training and has with worked social service agencies, neighborhood groups, faith communities and civic groups across the United States and Canada. He provides training on the implementation of ABCD and share stories of neighborhoods in action and the power of connected community. Previously, Joe was the Director of Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) in Vancouver, BC. His team consisted of staff from 4 different agencies who partnered with local organizations, businesses and residents to build on the capacity of community and neighbors to care for each other and share their gifts. Prior to this, he was the Director of ABCD Cincinnati for 8 years.
Joe’s work is highlighted in Peter Block’s book, Community, The Structure of Belonging and in John McKnight and Peter Block’s book, The Abundant Community.
