Kaitlyn Gard

Katie Gard is proudly born and raised in Brantford, Ontario. She graduated from McMaster University in 2011 with a combined Honors Degree in History and Religious Studies. From the time that Katie was seventeen, she has provided support to people who experience physical and developmental disabilities. Presently, Katie is employed as a Supervisor with Community Living Brantford. The opportunity to explore and learn more about Asset-Based Community Development from Community Living has inspired her to pursue this fellowship. Recently, Katie has partnered with a local church to start a "Free Little Pantry" as a form of tactical interventionism. The project seeks to bring neighbors together through the sharing of gifts (some tangible, some intangible) while also supporting those in need on a small scale.
