Yoga

Basic Yoga classes are offered through the Group Fitness schedule but sometimes that just doesn't cut it. For those new to yoga and interested in more individualized attention or those wanting to expand their practice in a small group setting, we offer more specialized classes and workshops. Our options change throughout the year, so keep checking back!

Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga with Kali

Vinyasa flow, power vinyasa and power yoga all have their roots in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, a breath-linked yoga system from India that builds strength, open hips, shoulders and hamstrings, detoxifies the body, and calms the mind.  This meditative, breathing-focused form of yoga can be adapted to any level, and expert adjustments insure correct alignment. In this progressive practice, each class builds off what we did the previous week, and includes inversions such as headstand and shoulderstand. Instructor Kali Om studied five times with Astanga master Pattabhi Jois in India, and has been teaching since 1998. She is certified at the highest (ERYT-500) level and is author of the 2018 book Beyond the Mat: Don't Just Do Yoga - Live It.
