BS, Biology, Virginia Tech
Jeff grew up with swim coach parents on the East Coast. Due to a series of injuries, he became interested in alternative ways to workout that allowed him to be as fit as possible with the least risk of injury.
Like so many people, Jeff had trouble maintaining healthy eating and exercise in college and gained a great deal of weight. When he completed his biology degree at Virginia Tech, he weighed more than 350 pounds. Severely frustrated and depressed, he moved to Chicago to attend graduate school. Thanks to some great faculty and staff at Chicago State University, he lost 100 pounds and earned a master's degree in applied physiology. With the weight loss, he regained energy, eliminated joint pain, and was able to wean himself off medications. He has been training and teaching group exercise since 1999.
Jeff has run several marathons and triathlons, bicycled across the country, and finished a couple of adventure challenges. He has learned how to safely work through the daily aches and pains of life and wants to teach others how to do the same.
His goal is to teach every client a better way of caring for themselves. Every client deserves a specific, adaptable program of nutrition, stress-reduction, and exercise that will continually challenge them. By teaching clients to be aware of external influences and how they can adapt to them, he provides them with a better quality of life.
