​Description:
Ignite Dance Company is one of the dance clubs on campus that focuses on competition and gaining dance experience from a dance convention. We welcome dancers with previous experience to try out and join our teams. Our mission is to improve dancers' confidence within themselves as both people and dancers.
Each dancer is welcome to audition for as many teams as they would like, so long as they are able to commit to one weekly rehearsal for each team that they are on. We offer the following styles of dance:
- Jazz
- Hip Hop
- Lyrical
- Contemporary
We also welcome opportunities for students to lead their own choreography during our full company rehearsals. After a dancer has been on the team for a year, we offer leadership opportunities e.g. captain or officer positions.
Purpose/Mission:
To embody confidence both inside and out as people and dancers.
Practice Schedule:
- One weekly rehearsal for each team (exact times TBD)
- Required Saturday rehearsals for entire company (typically three Saturdays a month to accommodate for holidays, breaks, finals, etc.)
