Description:
The DePaul Roller Hockey Club was founded in 2005. In its first season, the team competed in a men's roller hockey league in Mt. Prospect, IL. The team finished the season strong, finishing second place overall after being defeated in the championship game.
Starting in 2006-2007 season, DePaul became affiliated with the NCRHA (National Collegiate Roller Hockey Association). Competing in the Midwest Division (MCRHL), DePaul faces-off against schools such as: Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, University of Illinois, and Purdue.
The club is open to any interested player, regardless of skill level. A tryout determines which players will play on the travel roster. Those who do not make the travel roster will have the option of playing on the local roster and are welcome to attend practices and other club events.
Purpose/Mission:
DePaul Roller Hockey strives to allow its members to participate in the sport they love at a competitive level, while realizing and instilling the importance of regular exercise, developing one's talents, teamwork and sportsmanship. We understand that hockey can be a very expensive sport, and that finding rink time is often very difficult. Therefore it is our goal to make hockey more available to everyone by making participation on the team as convenient and inexpensive as possible.
