Robert Karpinski has served as director of Catholic School Initiatives since September 2009. In his role, Robert is responsible for developing and implementing a plan to expand and strengthen DePaul's relationships with Catholic schools, particularly in the Chicago area, in order to develop a long-term Catholic school enrollment strategy and improve the coordination and effectiveness of Catholic school outreach and partnership activities with DePaul. One of his primary roles is to coordinate DePaul's partnership with DePaul College Prep — a Catholic, co-educational high school on Chicago's North Side. In addition to his work with Catholic schools, Robert also coordinates DePaul's partnership with Lake View High School within Chicago Public Schools.
Robert also serves as adjunct faculty in DePaul's religious studies department. He is currently chair of the head support and evaluation committee as well as a member of the strategy committee as a board member for Josephinum Academy of the Sacred Heart for Girls, a Catholic high school in Chicago. He also serves as vice-chair of the board for DePaul Prep. Robert is also a member of the AdvancED Illinois State Council for school accreditation. Before coming to DePaul, Robert worked as the principal and chief academic officer for North Lawndale College Prep high school in Chicago.
He holds a PhD in educational administration and supervision from Fordham University and a MDiv from Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary.
