CAA Research Lab

Students engaged in a lab presentation

In early 2011, the Center for Access and Attainment (CAA) created the CAA Research Lab, a project intended to introduce first-year students to academic research methods and practice, in a collaborative effort — along with the TRiO SSS, McNair Scholars, and Arnold Mitchem Fellows — to prepare students for graduate study and faculty careers.

The CAA Research Lab activities and internships are partially funded by CAA and the  Arnold Mitchem Fellows Program, which provides a select group of first-year students participating in the TRiO SSS, McNair, or Mitchem programs with an early interest in graduate school. This opportunity help students to earn a research internship by contributing to a CAA research project while gaining career and job development skills.
