How to Apply

Mitchem Fellows program students at the DePaul Student CenterTo be eligible for participation in the Mitchem Fellows program, students must meet all of the following criteria:
  • Qualify as a first-generation college student, low-income (as established by U.S. Department of Education) or be a member of a group underrepresented in graduate school (currently defined by the U.S. Department of Education as Native American, Alaskan Native, Hispanic/Latino and African-American);
  • Be a second-year student (sophomore) by the time of program enrollment;
  • Possess and maintain 3.0 or above cumulative grade point average; and
  • Have a sincere desire to complete a PhD or equivalent terminal degree depending on discipline.
Note: Meeting the eligibility requirements does not guarantee admission into the program.
