National Pancake Day
was the other day and if you go to any IHOP you will get a free stack of buttermilk pancakes. Awesome right?
My friends and I contributed to the holiday that night. The idea of having a whole day dedicated to pancakes really got me thinking. This has to be one of the craziest ideas ever proposed, right? Well I did a little research
and found out that the day is used as a marker for the day before the first day of Lent. In the past, people would follow Ash Wednesday with meals that did not contain meat, dairy, eggs, etc. which usually led to a pancake type of food. Pancake Day is usually a day that precedes Ash Wednesday in either March or February (depends where you are). This made me think of other holidays that may not be as well known.
Here is a small list of days for the month of March
The list goes on and on. So, to end this article I would like to say that anything you can possibly imagine as a holiday, probably already is. However, if it isn’t yet a holiday take the chance and try to get it nationally recognized.
Thank you for reading my blog, and as always stay awesome!
