New shoes, new friends, new weather, new schedule, and did I mention a new year? Hello everyone, welcome back to a new year at DePaul, and welcome back to the DeBlogs - the best place to see what is up on campus, around Chicago, and more! Today I will be writing about my adventure to Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool.
Let me begin by saying that it is completely free! You can see animals such as rabbits, chipmunks, coyotes, and more. The pond has lily pads in it and reflects the sky in a romantic way that would be perfect for anyone trying to impress their significant other and keep their wallet happy at the same time. The pond has a rich history and walking through the cobblestone path you may believe that everything in the area is natural, but it's not. To my surprise, while learning about the history of the area from a staff member, I found out that it was all man made.
If you are trying to find the Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool, you want to head east on Fullerton going towards the lake. It is on the north side of the street just before Lincoln Park Zoo. The workers there are extremely nice and greet everyone with a smile. If you like photography or just want to get a nice profile picture for your Facebook, it’s the place to go. There is even a little patio type area made of wood where you can read, meditate, eat, or plan your first kiss. Remember this is all for the low price of free! So if you are in the area please do check it out - you will not regret it.
Thank you for reading my blog and as always stay awesome.
