My First Freshman Summer

Music, beaches, dancing, barbecues, fun in the sun, and more! Sound familiar? It is summertime everyone and I could not be more excited.

To begin this summer of 2014 I must first say goodbye to my first year at DePaul. There have been many great memories this first year for me such as my spring trip to St. Louis with my Mazza group, filming with my CDM friends, and just plain old hanging out on the quad. I remember my first day on campus for orientation and how nervous I was. So many people were walking around, talking, trying to figure out what was going on and where to go next. The rush of it all was a memory I will never forget.

Fast forward a few months to meeting people in my classes and hanging out with them in and out of class. One of the greatest decisions I made my first year was getting involved with as many things as I could. I was involved with DeBlogs, OMSS, STARS, I shot short films with friends, and just spent time on campus. I've heard many things about the future of my college career and what to expect, such as harder classes, but I am excited to continue my education at DePaul and I could not have asked for a better intro year.

I'm Josue Angel Ortiz, sophomore at DePaul University, stay awesome my friends!
