Aldi Spree

aldiI recommend a lot of restaurants to try in Chicago, but you do not always need to visit a restaurant or the Student Center to get a good meal. That is why grocery stores are a money-saving alternative that can provide a wider variety of foods you cannot find on-campus.
I may be biased because my parents do a majority of their grocery shopping at Aldi, but I sincerely think Aldi has some of the cheapest prices around. I was a frequent buyer at Target but I soon changed my habits when I was more reliant on groceries in the transition to apartment living. What I find myself buying the most from Aldi are their New York Strip steaks. One steak ranges from eight to eleven dollars, which I find cheap relative to the steaks you’d pay for at a restaurant. I don’t want to toot my own horn, but I can cook a steak better than a restaurant, so, even more, the reason to buy in-store, but I may be biased with my cooking skills. I believe each dorm at DePaul has either a stove in-room or a lounge area with a kitchen with essential cooking appliances, so there is no reason one cannot cook a meal of their own.
