Sushi + Rotary in the Rotation

sushi on a track
Until recently there were only two sources that supplied my sushi cravings: the Student Center and Walgreens…pretty American of me right? It wasn’t until I was referred to Sushi + Rotary, a restaurant I’ve literally walked past dozens of times, that I stepped into authentic sushi cuisine.
The main attraction to this particular sushi bar is definitely how the food is served. There is a conveyer belt that wraps around the entire restaurant and you pick whatever you please as it passes by. Your options range from conventional sushi to cakes, steaks, squid salads, seaweed, and so on. The pricing is determined by the color of the individual plates you choose with prices starting at $1.50 and ranging up to $6.50. If you placed a special order through the touchscreen menu, your order would then be delivered on a car that beeps at you until you take it. After five or so plates from the conveyer belt and one special order, the bill ended up to be just over $30 for two people, not including tip.

Just some advice to avoid public humiliation; condition yourself to get acquainted with using chopsticks. You could ask your server for traditional silverware if you are willing to sacrifice your pride by doing so. Overall, the service was excellent and one of the friendliest staff I encountered in awhile. As for the food, I believe I will find myself eating sushi more often, once I learn how to use chopsticks properly.
