Green Eggs and Ham

While taking a much needed break from midterms this past weekend, my roommate and I decided to take a trip to Water Tower. While we admired all the nice designer items we couldn’t afford and played in the Lego Store (everything is awesome!), we stumbled upon a Dr. Seuss Art Gallery and decided to wander in.

The gallery featured many adapted and reproduced Dr. Seuss artworks from his iconic books such as Horton Hears a Who, The Grinch, and the Lorax. Since authentic Dr. Seuss works of art are rarely sold, these recreations are as good as it’s going to get to the real thing.

The art gallery was a nice escape from the crowded hustle and bustle of Water Tower. Since it was a Saturday, the traffic flow was quite heavy! If you’re ever looking to do some high quality people-watching, Water Tower on a Saturday is a supreme location.

I’m glad I got a chance to see some of these reproduced Dr. Seuss works in person. Partly because the price tags on these iconic pieces are thousands of US dollars…Needless to say, they won’t be hanging on my apartment walls anytime soon.

However, I am in the process of looking for some unique and affordable wall artwork. I currently have some nice IKEA art hanging up, but it’s really not doing the job if you know what I mean. Per my roommate’s insistence, I do have a giant photo of our 35th President JFK hanging next to our couch. We call him Uncle Jack. Uncle Bobby (Robert Kennedy) is sitting upon our mantel. My roommates and I are weird like that. Any suggestions for wall art? Our apartment could use it. Let me know!
