DePaul Gaming League

Introducing the Inaugural Season of the DePaul Gaming League!

DePaul community members- including current students, faculty/staff, alumni, and admitted students- are welcomed to sign up for the inaugural season of the DePaul Gaming League. The initial season will consist of six weeks of competition for four games, including Rocket League, League of Legends, Overwatch, and Super Smash Bros. In addition to the four multi-week competitions, there will be single day tournaments for Animal Crossing and Fortnite.

Valorant will be featured as part of a single-day tournament on Friday, May 22 beginning at 6pm. The event is limited to the first 64 participants and will close an hour before the tournament begins. Participants will be required to have a Discord account and join the DePaul FPS server to participate in this event. Teams will be created based on skill level with best of three for initial play and best of five for the championship.

Fortnite will be featured as part of a single-day tournament on Thursday, May 14 beginning at 5pm. The event is limited to the first 64 participants and will close an hour before the tournament begins. Participants can complete via PC, Xbox, PS4, Nitendo Switch, or smart phone and will be required to have a Discord account to participate in this event.

The DePaul Gaming League featured Animal Crossing on Wednesday, April 29. During the event, DePaul students, faculty/staff, and alumni featured tours of their designed islands. A panel of judges determined Layla O'Malley, a first year student majoring in Game Design. You can watch the video on Twitch here.

Super Smash Bros. will happen on Thursday nights and will be featured as four single day tournaments taking place on April 23, April 30, May 1, and May 14. Each day will have one winner, and those winners will come together for the championship series on Thursday, May 21 to determine the Smash Gaming League champion. Sign ups for the April 23 competition are currently open, and the next week's sign up will open at the conclusion of week one play. This will occur for the entire season. Participants are not required to join in every week in order to participate in this league but are welcomed and encouraged to do so.

The DePaul Gaming League season for Rocket League began competition began on Monday, April 20 and will occur for six weeks. Regular season play will take place on April 20, April 27, May 4, and May 11. Playoffs will take place May 18 and May 25. Matches can be streamed at twitch.tv/depaulesports.

Overwatch began competition began on Wednesday, April 22 and will occur for six weeks. Regular season play will take place on April 22, April 29, May 6, and May 13. Playoffs will take place May 20 and May 27. Matches can be streamed at twitch.tv/depaulesports.
