Christi Wright

  • Peer Financial Advisor

Christi Wright is a rising senior at DePaul and is currently studying Finance. When not dealing with the hustle and bustle of college, she enjoys spending time kickboxing, investing in stocks, and watching home improvement shows.

For the past four years she has interned with the Economic Awareness Council in which she traveled across the city and taught youth between the ages of 6 – 24 years old the importance of financial literacy. She has published two articles within the company’s “On the Money” magazine in which she talked about the Illinois budget crisis and how to start being “Money Smart”. Christi was also a Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship recipient and Google Generation Scholarship recipient. She also had the opportunity to partake in an extensive three week program at Google in their downtown West Loop Chicago office, in which she enhanced her programming abilities with other like-minded individuals.

Some organizations that she is part of are Chicago Scholars, Association of Black Women in Higher Education, and Child Restoration Outreach Support Organization Young Professional Board Member. Christi is currently developing a financial literacy app that will help youth and young professionals learn more about financial topics such as building credit, saving, and budgeting to help enhance financial fitness.

Post – graduation, Christi plans to pursue her Master’s degree in Finance and go to the military. Her long term goal is to one day work at an investing or consulting firm, and establish a Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics elementary school.
