FYAS Advisor

The Office of First-Year Academic Success is here to support you.

First-Year Academic Success wants to take the time to acknowledge that this academic year is unlike any other and we are all adapting to a new normal. We understand that DePaul University's response to COVID-19 is having a tremendous impact on students across campus. As a result, we are working diligently to ensure that our office remains a consistent source of support in your academic journey.

Our physical offices are currently closed, but FYAS services and support are accessible to students remotely. As the FYAS advisor, Sonia Lizardo is available for FYAS Success Chats (phone or video, i.e. Zoom). Success Chats serve as an opportunity to discuss your goals, get connected to important campus resources and to ask questions or share concerns. Most importantly, Sonia is here to help you strategize for success each quarter. Success Chats give you the space to plan your journey at DePaul and develop the tools to achieve your goals.

Schedule a meeting today! See below for more details.

Depending on your needs, there are two different types of Success Chats. Schedule a chat that is the most appropriate for your questions.

FYAS Success Chat is a 30-minute meeting that serves as a check-in opportunity to discuss your courses and overall academic progress during the quarter. During this meeting, we can address questions you may have about your specific courses as well as University resources on campus.

FYAS Success Planning is a 45-minute meeting, allowing more time to discuss long-term goals and plan for future quarters at DePaul. These meetings also allow additional time to develop specific skills or strategies for your academic success.
