Brian Barasch began his career in arts administration as a student in The Theatre School at DePaul University and is thrilled to be back at his alma mater as director of marketing and communications for the School of Music.
Previously, Barasch worked at Victory Gardens Theater supporting the company’s executive and artistic leadership while serving as a liaison to the board of directors. He later joined the marketing staff at Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, managing the organization’s online presence and contributing to the success of ticket sales campaigns. Most recently, he led communications and brand strategy for Marwen, a local nonprofit providing free visual arts education for underserved youth. In that role Barasch orchestrated the #ThisIsMarwen public awareness campaign, which placed large-scale installations of student artwork throughout the city of Chicago.
Barasch has served as a CityArts grant review panelist for Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events and is a member of Young Non-Profit Professionals and Americans for the Arts. He is currently pursuing an MBA at DePaul’s Kellstadt Graduate School of Business.
