Janice Hay joined the DePaul University School of Music in May 2019 as a marketing professional with over two decades of broad experience in the orchestra industry having worked with two of the nation’s largest orchestras. Her background includes planning and leading comprehensive marketing strategies and communications programs in support of revenue and audience development goals, with experience in promoting live music events across a wide variety of musical genres.
Prior to joining DePaul, Hay was vice president of marketing for The Philadelphia Orchestra. Her eight-year tenure there was highlighted by dramatic revenue and audience growth during a period of significant change. Hay also held marketing roles of increasing responsibility with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Notably, she expanded the volume of first-time classical ticket buyers to the orchestra by over 60% as part of a multi-faceted marketing campaign around the launch of the orchestra’s new 12,000-seat summer home in the northern suburbs.
A native of Chicago, Hay earned a Bachelor of Music in Music Business from DePauw University as a classically trained violinist.
