Kristin Claes Mathews joined DePaul University in 2013 and has worked in communications and public relations for nonprofits and higher education for two decades. She served as a writer and media relations officer at the American Red Cross of Greater Chicago, sharing information about disaster relief and preparedness. As communications manager for the Chicago Alliance Against Sexual Exploitation, she led media relations and advocacy communications to support survivors of trafficking and sexual assault.
A native of Downers Grove, Illinois, Mathews has also worked in St. Louis, Missouri, and Madrid, Spain. She holds a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in English literature from Saint Louis University.
