Expertise: Urban transportation issues, transportation spending, interrelationship between highways, railroads and public transportation. Airline marketing, price policy, author of book on airline service to the Far East. Worked for United Airlines for seven years in marketing. Interrelationship between highways, railroads and public transportation, loss of rail service, urban transportation issues, transportation spending. Author of "Terminal Town An Illustrated Guide to Chicago's Airports, Bus Depots, Train Stations, and Steamship Landings, 1939 - Present" (2014); "When the Railroad Leaves Town: American Communities in the Age of Rail Line Abandonment" Vol. I (2001)and Vol. II (2004). Co-author of "Shaping Contemporary Suburbia: Perspectives on Development Control in Metropolitan Chicago" (2001).
