DePaul University welcomes 2 business leaders, alumnae to board of trustees

​​​CHICAGO — As the fall academic quarter gets underway, DePaul University is welcoming two alumnae, Anna Richo and Ruth Williams-Brinkley, to its board of trustees.

Richo is the corporate senior vice president, general counsel, chief compliance officer and corporate secretary at Cargill. As a member of Cargill’s executive team, she oversees global law, ethics and compliance, and government relations, global security and shareholder relations. Her broad international experience extends throughout Europe, Latin America and Asia and has served to strengthen her commitment to championing diversity and inclusion in the workplace. A native New Yorker, Richo has a J.D. degree from DePaul’s College of Law, and a bachelor’s degree in industrial and labor relations from Cornell University.

Williams-Brinkley is regional president of Kaiser Permanente of the Mid-Atlantic States, Inc. In that role, she oversees all of Kaiser Permanente’s care delivery and health plan operations in Washington, D.C., suburban Maryland, Baltimore and Northern Virginia. Williams-Brinkley has often appeared on Modern Healthcare’s Top 25 Women in Healthcare and Top 25 Minority Executives in Healthcare. Williams-Brinkley, a registered nurse, holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from DePaul. She previously was elected to DePaul’s Board of Trustees in 2012 and served until 2018.

“Anna and Ruth bring international and health care expertise along with business insight to DePaul’s governing board. As alumnae, they understand and embrace DePaul’s mission of service and inclusiveness,” said DePaul President A. Gabriel Esteban, Ph.D. “I appreciate their dedication to the university and their willingness to contribute their extensive leadership experiences as trustees.”

“Both of our new trustees are passionate about DePaul’s Vincentian mission and will serve with a common purpose — to help guide the university toward fulfilling its strategic vison,” said Lori Holland, chair of the board of trustees. “I look forward to having Anna and Ruth share their expertise and join us as trustees.”
