Update on Employee COVID-19 Vaccine Attestation

Aug. 9, 2021

DePaul employees,

On July 26, you received an email outlining the university's decision requiring all employees to be vaccinated for COVID-19. DePaul requires that College of Law employees receive at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine by Aug. 23. All other employees are required to receive all recommended doses by Sept. 3.

DePaul's Faculty Council, Staff Council and Student Government Association endorsed this requirement for our entire community, including faculty and staff.

As outlined in the July 26 communication, employees will be required to attest to their COVID-19 vaccine status. To make the process as simple as possible, employees will attest to their vaccination status through a secure third-party platform. It will allow employees to quickly confirm their status and upload their COVID-19 vaccine card. It replaces the need for a random verification process to confirm compliance throughout the next academic year. DePaul's students are using a similar process for their immunization records.

In the next few days, please look for additional information, via email and Newsline, with the platform's link and instructions on how to submit your information.

In the meantime, please review the following resources to help you with this requirement:

  • If necessary, request a medical or religious exemption: Email employeerelations@depaul.edu or visit the Human Resources website.
  • Reminder about paid time off: Employees can use paid time off to get a COVID-19 vaccine or to recover from the vaccine's side effects. For more information, visit Newsline.
  • Vaccine resources: Visit DePaul's COVID-19 Vaccine Resource page to learn more about finding and scheduling a vaccine appointment in your area.

If you have questions, email DePaulCommunityHealth@depaul.edu. We highly encourage you to seek a vaccine appointment now.

Thank you again and Take Care DePaul.

Sincerely,

A. Gabriel Esteban, Ph.D.
