Christy Beighe is a true sociologist at heart. From an early age, Christy quickly learned that to reach new heights, one has to seek mentorship, humble oneself to realize there are wiser and smarter people out there, and to seek new opportunities versus waiting for them to arrive on the doorstep.

Christy started her career as a budding Community Social Worker through a multi-year AmeriCorps youth development program empowering young people in urban impoverished communities to develop strong academic skills while participating in prosocial sports and recreation activities. This led Christy into the pursuit of a Master’s degree in Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago’s: Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy and Practice.

Once in the urban mecca of the Midwest, Christy continued on a path of social services discovering a passion for new populations through her work at:

  • Safer Foundation with returning citizens.
  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago with high risk youth seeking mentoring,
  • Chicago Youth Centers with youth in foster care and families facing extreme poverty and resource disparities.
  • DePaul University where Christy teaches a course on Multiculturalism in the United States, instructing the next generation of community leaders.
  • Albany Park Community Center as the Chief Program Officer and Interim Executive Director, engaging in administrative social and policy work for immigrant families.
  • Youth Guidance as the inaugural Compliance Officer, creating systematic approaches to national programming and agency operations.
When not working, Christy can be found spending time with her significant other, five children and two fur babies in Milwaukee, WI, where she now calls home!
