Dr Isabelle Lys is a Senior Lecturer (Bioscience) in the ACU School of Behavioural and Health Sciences. Since joining ACU, she has had continuous and sustained involvement in Community Engagement (CE). Dr Lys has extensive experience in teaching of CE in both Biomedical Science and Exercise Science. She regularly teaches ACU’s Catholic Core Curriculum. She received one of ACU’s first mini-grants (utilising Uniservitate funding) for course improvement and community partnership development. Dr Lys has also worked closely with ACU’s Equity team and Indigenous Higher Education Unit (IHEU) to identify and to develop new community partnerships. She completed the De La Salle University Service-Learning Course in 2021/22, and is an active member of ACU’s CE Community of Practice. Her aim is to lead and develop CE curriculum that is evidence-based, engaging to students, links strongly back to ACU’s Catholic Mission, and helps solve challenges at local and global levels.​
