Dear Faculty, Staff and Students,
I hope you’re enjoying a wonderful and relaxing summer! As we transition from our past fiscal year into a new one, I’d like to take this moment to share updates from DePaul University’s Division of Advancement and External Relations.
A Strong Fundraising Finale
We’re thrilled to share that DePaul raised over $62 million in fundraising for fiscal year 2025! A major highlight was a generous $1 million gift from the Congregation of the Mission, which helped close out the year on a strong and meaningful note.
Founded by St. Vincent de Paul in 1625, the Congregation continues to be an extraordinary partner in our mission. Their recent gift supports three initiatives:
- The Vincentian Services Institute Endowment – promotes Vincentian values through programs, workshops, and scholarly outreach
- The Vincentian Archives Endowment – preserves and shares archival materials through our Special Collections
- The Vincentian Heritage Initiative Endowment – supports heritage tours for faculty and staff
This strong finish puts us in a great position for the public launch of our university-wide campaign this fall. So far, we've raised $421 million toward our ambitious $650 million goal!
Campaign Kickoff – Save the Date
We’re kicking off the campaign with a campus-wide celebration — and you’re invited!
Friday, October 24 & Saturday, October 25
Lincoln Park Quad
Join us for a community festival that will showcase DePaul’s bold vision for the future. The event coincides with Alumni and Family Weekend, so it’s the perfect opportunity to connect, celebrate and show your DePaul pride. More details coming soon but go ahead and mark your calendar!
Expanding Engagement
This past year, we saw incredible energy and engagement from the DePaul community. Whether it was at Alumni & Family Weekend, presidential receptions across the country, our Scholarship Celebration, or the School of Music Gala, the support from alumni, donors, parents and friends has been inspiring.
We were especially proud to see so many alumni participate in Vincentian Service Day, giving back to nonprofits across the country alongside our faculty, staff and students.
Commencement season also brought powerful moments, with heartfelt speeches from:
Gerald Beeson (BUS ’94) – Board of Trustee member and Driehaus College of Business alumnus
Marlee Matlin – DePaul parent and award-winning actress, addressing CDM graduates
Michael Hennessey – past parent and philanthropist, speaking to Kellstadt graduates
These are just a few examples of the amazing people who make up our DePaul family — a diverse, passionate and generous community that lifts each other up and helps move our mission forward.
Thank you for all you do to support DePaul. We’re proud to be on this journey with you and can’t wait to see what the coming year brings.
Go Blue Demons!
Sincerely,
Katie Fraumann
