Leadership Notes > Belden parking closure starts Monday

Belden parking closure starts Monday

Dear Faculty, Staff and Students,

We are writing to share news of a street closure on the Lincoln Park Campus that could impact your travel through this coming spring.

Starting Monday, Oct. 21, Belden Ave. will be closed from Racine Ave. east to Clifton Ave., on school days (Monday to Friday) between 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Students at Oscar Mayer School will use the street for recess while nearby Trebes Park is under construction. This temporary closure is expected to last until the park renovation is completed this Spring.

See map below:

We understand that this may cause some inconvenience for DePaul faculty, staff, students and guests. As good neighbors in Lincoln Park, we appreciate your patience and flexibility so these elementary school students can enjoy much-needed playtime outdoors.

What to know:
Do not park cars on this one block stretch of Belden, from Racine to Clifton, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Violators may be ticketed or towed.

Watch for children. As always, take it slow around school zones and watch for children playing.

What might help:
If you are driving near campus on school days during this time, Clifton is an alternate route that will remain open. Cars may turn east from Clifton to Belden and continue as normal.

Thank you for your understanding. Have a wonderful weekend.

Sincerely,

Rich Wiltse
