Updates to our BUILD professional development program

Dear Faculty and Staff,

As a follow-up to our Thriving Framework: Vincentian Excellence at DePaul, we are pleased to announce an important update to one of our cornerstone professional development opportunities. The BUILD Diversity Certificate Program is now the BUILD Thriving Certificate Program.

This update reflects our ongoing commitment to foster diversity and build a sense of belonging and thriving across our campus community that upholds the human dignity of all. The updated program reflects our broader goals, empowering faculty and staff with the tools to create environments where everyone can flourish, in alignment with our Thriving Framework.

The commitment and heart of the BUILD program remain the same: a robust, meaningful learning experience designed to enhance your capacity to lead, teach and work in ways that support a thriving university culture.

We also implemented a curriculum change:

  • To graduate from Level 1, participants will now complete three required workshops and five elective workshops.
  • To graduate from Level 2, participants will now complete three required workshops and six elective workshops.
  • We believe this change will provide more flexibility for BUILDers to focus on their personal interests.
Our fall schedule is now posted. We invite you to explore upcoming sessions and continue (or begin) your journey with the BUILD Thriving Certificate program.

We also would like to extend our congratulations to our recent BUILD program graduates:
