DePaul’s Guiding Principles on Artificial Intelligence

Dear DePaul community,

Launched last fall, the Provost’s Advisory Committee on Artificial Intelligence (ACAI) brings together faculty, staff, and administrators from across DePaul to discuss policy and strategy as well as risks and opportunities presented by artificial intelligence.

After a series of listening sessions on both campuses, conversations with academic units and co-curricular offices, and feedback from Faculty Council and Staff Council, ACAI recently finalized an updated Guiding Principles document. You can read the Guiding Principles on Artificial Intelligence at DePaul here. These principles acknowledge the fundamental place of human values and ethical decision-making in DePaul’s approach to all technology.

I’m grateful to everyone who shared their perspective through this process, and I encourage you to read the principles and share them with your colleagues.

Sincerely,

Russell L. Ivy
Provost and Senior Vice President
