The Democratic National Convention begins this Monday

Dear Faculty, Staff and Students, 

As a follow-up to our August 6 message, we would like to remind you that the Democratic National Convention will take place in Chicago next week from Monday, August 19 through Thursday, August 22. Various DNC events will be held at McCormick Place throughout the week, and the convention itself will take place at United Center on August 22. For details about the security perimeter, as well as road and sidewalk restrictions around these sites, click here​. 

While official DNC activities are not in the Loop, there will be street and sidewalk closures and traffic and pedestrian congestion in various locations throughout the city. Be flexible about remote work and plan accordingly for delays.  

For the most up-to-date information on unscheduled closures, download the Office of Emergency Management app. You c​an also sign up for DNC text alerts or visit the City of Chicago’s FAQ for the convention. 

Finally, if you see something out of place or potentially suspicious on or near campus, report it to DePaul Public Safety at the following numbers:
