Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,
At DePaul, we are committed to supporting the academic success and wellbeing of all our students. Throughout this academic year, we’ve been preparing for the launch of the Student Health Insurance Plan in the fall. The plan offers affordable, comprehensive coverage to all degree-seeking students.
Here’s what the DePaul community needs to know:
- When students register for fall classes, they will be automatically added to the UnitedHealthcare PPO plan.
- Coverage for undergraduate and graduate students begins September 1 and costs $800 per quarter. More information on coverage dates and rates is on the Academic HealthPlans (AHP) website.
- Students who already have active insurance coverage and are registered for Fall 2024 classes may opt out now by submitting a waiver through the AHP website. Last month, we shared instructions with students about how to access the AHP website and portal.
- The deadline to submit a waiver is September 20.
As a reminder, all degree-seeking students (part-time and full-time) are required to have health insurance beginning Fall 2024.
I encourage anyone who has questions about the health insurance plan or waiver process to email
studentinsurance@depaul.edu. Please note that it may take 1-2 business days to receive a response.
Offering a comprehensive insurance plan that covers physical and behavioral health services, preventative care, vaccinations and more will help us ensure all DePaul students have a successful and healthy academic career.
I wish you all luck with your finals and hope you enjoy the summer.
Take care,
Eugene L. Zdziarski, II, PhD
