DePaul's new website and internal portal

Dear Faculty and Staff,

Two weeks ago, we rolled out DePaul’s new public website and internal portal. While this launch is a significant milestone in DePaul’s digital transformation, we fully recognize the frustration you may be experiencing as we adapt to the new site. With the hope of addressing your concerns, we’re sharing a progress report on the status of resolving technical issues and outlining next steps in our rollout process.

Progress report

As with any complex website launch of this magnitude, we anticipated that there would be technical issues following the initial rollout.

Staff in University Branding & Marketing and Information Services are dedicated to finding solutions for these issues as quickly and seamlessly as possible. We are deeply committed to addressing the problems that are affecting your experience, including broken links and navigation issues.

  • We recognize you may have questions about how we are prioritizing this work and the progress we have made so far.
  • For real-time transparency, we created a live status page that tracks reported issues and progress over time.
  • We invite you to follow our progress here and will update this page regularly as work continues.
Internal Portal: MyDePaul (my.depaul.edu)

Looking for D2L, BlueSky or Human Resources? As part of DePaul’s digital transformation, many resources that were previously on our public website are now located on our internal portal, called MyDePaul .
  • Faculty, staff and students now have a personalized experience on MyDePaul, a centralized hub where you can find essential internal resources.
  • If you don’t see a specific resource, we encourage you to use the new search functionality or click on the "Resources" link at the top of the page.
One of the objectives of DePaul’s digital transformation is to clearly separate our public-facing content from our internal resources for faculty, staff and current students. This delineation makes it easier for our prospective students and families to find information about academic programs and opportunities. We know this is a change for our community and likely leading to many questions.
  • To help you navigate the portal, we created a resource page with instructions and other guides. We encourage you to explore the resource page here
  • We also are organizing MyDePaul information sessions and will send additional details soon.
Content migration and maintenance

As part of the rollout, we migrated a select amount of content from the old public website to the new one. Old content has been archived and is not lost.
  • We understand that broken links are making it difficult to locate certain content related to your program or area, and we are working to resolve those issues as quickly as possible.
  • Prior to the migration, college site owners reviewed which content should be migrated or archived.
  • In addition, some content was reorganized and consolidated to streamline features. These changes may mean that navigation has changed.
  • You can find more details about the migration process on the live status page located here
Every college and school has a staff member who is the designated author that is responsible for maintaining the content in your area. If you have content that you would like to add or change on your program page or bio, you will need to work with the author in your area.

These authors are actively working with University Branding & Marketing and Information Services to address the most pressing issues. They will be in touch with you soon to solicit further edits and feedback.

For guidance on who maintains the website for your area, please contact your dean or vice president.

Next steps

Over the coming weeks, we are committed to listening to your feedback and to supporting continued improvement.
  • College and school meetings: We are in the process of meeting with every college and school to listen, answer questions and ensure concerns are addressed.
  • MyDePaul information sessions: Faculty and staff are encouraged to attend information sessions about the internal portal. These sessions will be offered on both campuses as well as virtually. More details will be shared soon.
Thank you for your continued patience and your feedback. We know this transition has been difficult, and we are committed to addressing issues and making steady progress.

While the launch has had its challenges, it is an important step toward modernizing how we serve our community, tell our story and support your daily work. As a core priority of DePaul’s strategic plan, this transformation will ultimately boost enrollment, strengthen our campus connections and better position us to advance our mission and support student success.

We appreciate your continued partnership as we work together to build a stronger, more connected DePaul.

Sincerely,
