Last May, as a complement to the ideas generated in the Designing DePaul sessions, Academic Affairs sought input to inform the work of the Strategic Resource Allocation Committee (SRAC). Specifically, I invited faculty and staff to share ideas about how we might further distinguish DePaul as an urban, Catholic, and Vincentian university, enhance our academic reputation, and strengthen our long-term financial position. In response to that initial call, we received over 60 suggestions from faculty and staff in late spring and early summer. I am grateful to everyone who took the time to share their ideas. Over the summer, together with academic colleagues on SRAC, I completed an initial review of those suggestions, and based on that review will seek feedback from the deans and vice presidents on ideas that involved their college or school or area of responsibility.
As the new academic year begins, I write to remind you that the solicitation remains open through October 1 and to invite you to share your ideas if you have not already done so. These ideas may be fully formed or still preliminary. They may be unit-specific or they may require collaboration (internal or external).
For example, we might:
· strategically tailor class modality to curricular and student- requirements
· develop a signature program for new transfer students
· create certificates in key skill areas for current or non-degree students
· develop accelerated degree paths
· leverage the university's strengths in the performing and visual arts
· develop new programs to meet societal and student demand.
If you have not already done so, please take this opportunity to share your ideas and thoughts by submitting this
form. As noted above, this is a rolling solicitation, open through October 1, 2023.
We thank you for your time and willingness to share your ideas.
