On August 31, faculty and staff gathered on the Lincoln Park Campus for Academic Convocation, the official kickoff of the new academic year. Robert L. Manuel, president of DePaul, and Salma Ghanem, the university's provost, welcomed everyone back to campus. Manuel launched the 2023-24 academic year and
shared the ambitious plans for designing DePaul’s future rooted in the Designing DePaul process that took place in winter and spring of 2023. The exceptional efforts of faculty and staff were recognized through a number of awards and recognitions. Afterwards, faculty and staff enjoyed a welcome back celebration on the Quad.
