Earlier this month, community members, along with alumni and student musicians from the School of Music, filled St. Vincent de Paul Parish Church with songs of the season during the Christmas at DePaul performances held Dec. 5 and 6.
Christmas at DePaul is the retelling of the birth of Christ in both word and song. The annual holiday concert is offered as a gift to the community. Many attendees donate warm clothing, food and monetary gifts to support the St. Vincent de Paul Parish Food Pantry. Each year a student is selected from The Theatre School to narrate the sacred story as selections of classical holiday music celebrating the birth of Christ are performed by the DePaul Community Chorus and student musicians from the School of Music.
