In an interview with Dr. Esteban on DePaul Download, he gave the university community one mission-based assignment for the fall quarter: one act of charity or kindness per week. In response, Newsline and Religious Diversity & Pastoral Care have teamed up to share a new prompt or quote every Wednesday to inspire your own Act of Loving Kindness. In addition, we invite you to share examples of kindness you personally witnessed, whether it be through our Acts of Loving Kindness prompts or more generally in your communities. The gallery below is a collection of weekly Acts of Loving Kindness prompts and our community's response.
Prompts for Wednesday, Nov. 18:
- “The gratitude that we encounter helps us believe in the goodness of the world." – Albert Schweitzer
- With seasons of thanks and giving upon us, we are invited to pause from the routines of life and make space for gratitude and giving. This week and in the weeks ahead, take time to reflect on the many things in your life for which you are thankful. Share words of gratitude with those who bring goodness to your life. Take time to turn your gratitude into a heart of giving. Join the Office of Student Involvement in preparing holiday cards for seniors. Complete this form and you will receive supplies and directions for mailing the cards back to OSI who will deliver your kindness and goodness to senior centers in the area in mid-December.
