Merry Christmas from DePaul 2019

Dec. 9, 2019

Last year, DePaul University began a new tradition on the Lincoln Park Campus, the lighting of the first holiday tree.  This year, DePaul is celebrating a new holiday tradition on the Loop Campus, reminiscent of the Christmas window displays along State Street that have been a downtown tradition since the 1800s. Faculty filmmakers Meg Artes and Devin Bell, together with students in DePaul’s School of Cinematic Arts, collaborated to create a new State Street window display - a stop-motion animated film entitled, “Merry Christmas from DePaul”—for the Richard M. and Maggie C. Daley Building at the corner of State Street and Jackson Boulevard.

“Merry Christmas from DePaul” showcases the work of our faculty and students, captures the spirit of the season, demonstrates the power of giving students real world experiences and connects our mission through the Christmas star.

We hope you enjoy watching it and find time this holiday season to visit our new State St. Christmas window. DePaul wishes you happy holidays and much happiness in the year ahead.
