Pool Policies

  • Lifeguards have the right to remove anyone for unsafe or inappropriate behavior.
  • Lifeguards have final authority on all matters concerning safety and emergency situations in the pool area until relieved by proper authorities.
  • The use of the pool is prohibited unless supervised by a Campus Recreation authorized lifeguard.
  • An adult must supervise children 15 years and younger at all times. It is the discretion of the lifeguard how closely or directly the parent should supervise the child (e.g. on deck, in the water, or holding the child).
  • Non-swimmers may not rely on the use of flotation devices except when directly supervised by a proficient adult swimmer or authorized instructor.
  • Patrons are strongly encouraged to shower before entering the water.
  • Running on the pool deck is prohibited.
  • Diving is prohibited, including shallow diving from the deck.
  • No food or beverages are allowed in the pool area except water in unbreakable containers. No glass may be brought onto the pool deck.
  • One long whistle blast is an alert from the lifeguard initiating the emergency action plan. Immediate evacuation of the pool must commence when this alarm is heard by patrons.
  • A minimum of 2 lanes of the pool will be available for a combination of lap and open swimming at all times.
  • When three or more swimmers share a lane, they must swim in a circular manner.
  • Kickboards and pull buoys are available on the swim deck. Goggles and swim diapers are available for purchase at the Pro Shop.
  • Because we are a one-lifeguard facility, feel free to ask our lifeguards a question or provide customer feedback, but please keep conversations brief so as to ensure minimal distraction from their primary responsibility of observing and maintaining the safety of the pool area and patrons.
  • If the topic you would like to discuss will take longer than a few minutes, please ask the lifeguard to contact a building manager to better assist you.
  • View Children's Policies on our Facility Policies page.
