The DePaul Experience

A premiere academic reputation. DePaul is the largest private, nonprofit university in the Midwest — ranked in the top 12 nationally and widely renowned for academic excellence. DePaul was recently recognized as one of the "most innovative schools" by U.S. News & World Report. These honors lend insight to the standards of excellence we hold for teaching, learning and preparing students for their future.

Distinguished faculty. Our faculty comes from distinguished academic, professional and research backgrounds and most are active in their fields, providing real-world experience that translates into practical application.

A vast network of successful alumni. DePaul has a reputation for training stellar employees — with more than 160,000 DePaul alumni working in virtually every field all over the world. And nearly 106,000 are in the Chicago area.

A program that is manageable with your life. DePaul recognizes that maintaining work/life balance is important and taking on a new commitment requires significant consideration. The class schedule will also be designed to accommodate the variable scheduling demands of the Chicago Police Department with daytime and evening formats.

Partnership Benefits for FOP Members. Through DePaul's partnership with the Fraternal Order of Police, you have the opportunity to earn your undergraduate or graduate degree with:

  • Degree programs taught onsite at the Chicago Police Academy
  • Waived application fee
  • Admission counselors who specialize in serving working adult students
  • Customized academic programs for members of Lodge 7

DePaul University accepts tuition reimbursement benefits offered to members of the FOP.

Double Demon Benefits

Alumni from any of DePaul's colleges who are admitted into a graduate program or a select certificate program automatically qualify for the Double Demon Scholarship. The Double Demon scholarship covers 25 percent of the tuition for a master's degree or a select certificate program.

All alumni admitted to these programs beginning with the Winter quarter of 2014 or thereafter qualify. This scholarship cannot be used in conjunction with any other DePaul scholarships, waivers, discounts or awards.

Military and Veterans Benefits

Serving returning military members has been a priority at DePaul since World War II. We do not limit the number of veterans who can enroll through the Yellow Ribbon Program, which provides tuition-free education to eligible students.
