Choose your own adventure: Theatre students reimagine play for pandemic

​The Theatre School's Stephanie LeBolt had been rehearsing the play "BOXED IN" for two weeks when COVID-19 put Chicago on lockdown. The director soon learned the way forward would take creativity and collaboration. With this approach, LeBolt and her team turned their stage play into a virtual, choose-your-own adventure experience.

​In June, when DePaul announced our plans for a limited return to campus in the fall, Chicago was reopening and the city's COVID-19 infection rate was decreasing. Since then, the environment has changed. A concerning increase in the rates of COVID-19 locally is leading the university to reevaluate our return to campus planning and to take a second look at the number of courses that will occur on campus.
