The university outlines the first of several tactics that will emerge from the university’s new strategic plan, "Grounded in Mission," as DePaul pursues its vision of ensuring academic success for a diverse community of learners.
DePaul University is ranked 119th in the just-released 2019 listing of National Universities by U.S. News & World Report. The publication also ranked DePaul 54th as a Best Value School.
For the second year in a row, DePaul will participate as a sponsor of Chicago Ideas Week to encourage critical discussions that have an impact on our city, enhance global learning opportunities and provide DePaul’s civic-minded faculty, staff and students an opportunity to connect with issues and topics that are important to them.
After 32 years as a DePaul staff member in Student Affairs, Cynthia M. Summers left an indelible mark on many of the faculty, staff and students she worked with during that time. A former associate vice president and interim vice president for Student Affairs who retired in 2014, Summers passed away on Sept. 7 after an extended illness. A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, Sept. 28, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church at 10 a.m.

There’s no way of foreseeing medical or personal issues that force students to withdraw from classes. If you don’t have proper coverage you could lose some, or all, of the money you have paid. This year, the GradGuard Protection Plan is available for tuition reimbursement in cases of emergency.
Performance Appraisals for all full and part time staff are due to HR by Monday, Oct. 1. Members of the Office of Human Resources are available to help with any questions and concerns staff may have about the process.
Starting next week, DePaul will kick off a project, named ‘Light Up DePaul’ to greatly expand the university's wireless network. The goal is to dramatically improve the WiFi experience in all areas of the university, including classrooms, labs, and public areas, as well as faculty and administrative offices.
For 18 months, DePaul has invested time and resources to thoroughly examine the adult learner landscape—and the School for New Learning’s role in it—to determine how DePaul can continue to lead in this area. Over the next year, SNL will undergo a large-scale reorganization, rebranding, and renaming to the School of Continuing and Professional Studies.
