HumanitiesX fellows to take on book banning, human rights, roots of democracy

The College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences recently announced the third set of HumanitiesX fellows, who are set to develop courses around the theme "Democracy and Rights," leading up to the 2024 presidential election. Three interdisciplinary teams will engage students in new courses around book banning, human rights and the roots of American democracy.​

ISSS's Tamrat receives Staff Council award

​Hiwoté Tamrat, director of International Student and Scholar Services, is this year's recipient of the Staff Council Diversity Award. The honor recognizes an individual for demonstrating outstanding achievements, initiatives and sustained commitment to the mission, the pursuit of cultural diversity and the advocacy of civil and human rights within the DePaul community. Tamrat, center, received her award June 6 from DePaul officials including President Rob Manuel and Vice President for the Office of Institutional Diversity and Equity Elizabeth Ortiz.
