Jarvis CDM celebration draws crowd, unveils student center

A buzzing crowd of faculty, staff and students gathered May 20 in the DePaul Center to celebrate Eugene P. Jarvis and DePaul trustee Sasha L. Gerritson (MUS '99) and their landmark gift to the university. In recognition of the couple's generosity and leadership, DePaul officially renamed the Eugene P. Jarvis College of Computing and Digital Media.

Ally Johnson pursued her master's degree during an incredibly challenging time — the COVID-19 pandemic and outrage following the police killings of people of color. However, with the support from her professors and classmates, she channeled her emotions and thoughts to share the stories of marginalized communities — particularly stories of radical Black joy.

Political science grad strives to become immigration lawyer, civic leader

At DePaul, Lenin Plazas worked on political campaigns, interned with an elected official and was inspired to follow a future of service. He plans to become an immigration lawyer and dreams of seeking political office to help people in their time of need, just as his family was helped in theirs.
