DePaul names Alexandra Murphy dean of the College of Communication

Murphy has served as the acting and interim dean of the College of Communication since 2018. She is also a St. Vincent de Paul professor and a higher education leader who is dedicated to interdisciplinary collaboration, community service and diversity, equity and inclusion.

After over 30 years as a social worker, community organizer and activist, John Zeigler has worked in enough poor, global and local urban communities to see what the arc of justice looks like in these neighborhoods. As director of the Egan Office of Urban Education and Community Partnerships he has also experienced the ways large institutions like DePaul can successfully engage with communities and bring their resources to bear.
