Guide to Classes

Man watching online lecture

The COVID-19 pandemic changed our lives in profound ways, including the ways in which we are able to gather as a learning community. We learned that we can offer classes in multiple modalities, both on-campus and online. While most classes will be offered on-campus, we will be offering a number of classes online. In some instances, these classes will be offered as part of degrees that are now fully online; in other instances, courses that have multiple sections may include both online and on-campus options. In addition, thanks to new technology, some on-campus classes will also give students the option to participate remotely.

As you are building your schedule for the upcoming terms, please learn about the available modalities. Not every class will be available in every modality, but be aware of the options and of how to identify them in Campus Connect.

Here's what's on this page:

Identifying Course Modalities in Campus Connect

Here’s how to see the course modality options for any given class:

  1. In Campus Connect, select the Manage Classes tile, and then Class Search and Enroll.
  2. The first page of results lists the essential information for each class.
    • The Days and Times column indicates the days and time your class will meet, if such a schedule applies, or “n/a” for modalities that do not meet on specific days and times.
    • The Room column indicates the physical room for classes scheduled on one of our campuses, the specific modality for online courses, and whether students can move back and forth between on-campus and on-line (“Flex”).
