Company Description

Potbelly started in 1977 as a small antique store on Lincoln Avenue in Chicago. To boost sales, the original owner began offering warm sandwiches and homemade desserts to customers. Potbelly became a well-known neighborhood sandwich shop with a loyal following of regulars and frequent lines out the door. The second shop opened in 1997, with Potbelly continuing to grow into many more neighborhoods, reaching 288 company-owned shops in 2013. Franchisees operate seven shops domestically and twelve in the Middle East.

Potbelly's toasty warm sandwiches, craveable salads and hand-dipped milkshakes are all made fresh-to-order, and their cookies are baked fresh each day. They provide a superior customer experience, driven by both their employees and the lively atmosphere of their shops, which feature live music and vintage décor inspired by the neighborhood.
