At DePaul, every student has the right to feel safe and secure on campus.
Here are some measures we have taken to increase security, resources that are available, and potential policies we are looking to implement to support our ongoing commitment to a s
ecure campus for all.
DePaul encourages the community to report any act of harassment or violence:
- We are unwavering in our commitment to ensure that no acts of hatred, violence, Islamophobia, or antisemitism are tolerated in our community. DePaul will continue to investigate every reported complaint of harassment or discrimination, according to our
Anti-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment Policy.
- We also remind our students if they experience any threats or intimidating behavior inside the classroom or anywhere on campus, to contact Public Safety at 773-325-7777 (Lincoln Park) or 312-362-8400 (Loop) or
report an incident here.
- Resources for
students, faculty and staff are available here.
We have increased safety patrols on campus and have safety escorts available to our students:
-
Public Safety escorts offer safe transportation for the DePaul community around the Lincoln Park campus from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., either by foot or vehicle.
- Escorts may be in a Public Safety vehicle (up to 3 riders) or a van (up to 9 riders). Inform Public Safety of the number of riders when requesting an escort. Escorts are available within campus boundaries only, including between buildings, to DePaul parking lots/garages, or to the Fullerton CTA station.
We are in the process of reviewing policies related to masking, identity concealment, and ID checking on campus:
- A new university policy that addresses identify verification for individuals wearing face coverings has been proposed and is moving through our shared governance process.
